Performance Café
with Terese Longva
Four times a year, Performance Art Stavanger invites a performance artist to Rogaland Kunstsenter. Together with the speaker and the audience, we delve into interesting and relevant topics within performance and the artist's own business. Where the conversation will go, and what happens along the way, is entirely up to the participants. Performance cafe is a pleasant space where performance artists and anyone interested are invited to come together for good conversations and exchange of experiences. To be engaged and inspired, under the wide umbrella that is the world of performance art.
This time we invite Terese Longva, who primarily investigates creation and change processes in nature, humans and society. An example of this is the performance work "Samfunnskontrakt" which was shown at the Autumn Exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus. (2020).
Terese has formed a performance duo with Laurel Jay Carpenter that has been active since 2010. Currently, she also collaborates with social scientist Harald Dyrkorn, where geological and human routines at Nordøya in Møre and Romsdal are assessed as an interaction between center and periphery. She is also in the process of establishing an artist residency on the site. Read more about Longva here: www.longvacarpenter.com
On February 22, we start the conversation at 19:00 at Rogaland Art Centre The moderator this time is Anne-Marte Eidseth Rygh.
